Desalpe festival in Les Haudères

More than 100 days have passed since the cattle were taken up to the mountain pastures. The herds have enjoyed the freedom of the alpine meadows, while farmers have worked tirelessly throughout the summer, making hay and tending to their farms, sometimes in particularly challenging conditions.

To celebrate this important moment in the Val d’Hérens and honour the people who keep its agricultural traditions alive, join us for a festive day in the enchanting setting of the village of Les Haudères and the Hérens Aréna.

Under the guidance of the Association de la Maison des Reines, the organising committee has put together a day combining living traditions, conviviality and an insight into today’s farming world.

Programme

• From 10:00 am at the Hérens Aréna: craft market
• 11:00 am: farmers’ parade through the village of Les Haudères - Discover the livestock list
• 12:00–1:00 pm: official ceremony celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Hérens Aréna
• Food at the arena: grilled specialities, sausages and raclette
• Throughout the afternoon: numerous activities, including the cowpat lottery, live music and encounters with farm animals
• From 6:00 pm: dance evening with Ianis Amacker
