Desalpe festival in Les Haudères

After more than 100 days on the mountain pastures and a few weeks in the mayens, the Hérens cows and all the other livestock in the region are gradually making their way back down to the villages.

To celebrate this important moment in the breeders' year, we invite you to join them for a day of festivities in the wonderful setting of the village of Les Haudères and its arena: the Hérens Aréna.

With the support of the Les Haudères 1st August organising committee, the "La Maison des Reines" association has put together the following programme for you:

From 10.00 am: Artisans' and local produce market in the village

2pm: Cattle parade through the old village of Les Haudères and on to the Hérens Arena

From 3.00 pm: In the arena - on a giant screen - a commentary on the best of the last queen match and an illustrated chronicle of the Éleveurs season.

Demonstration of sheep herding with shepherds and dogs.

Presentation of the livestock.

From 5.00 pm: Tasting of raclette cheeses from the region's mountain pastures and cheese dairies.
