Geomorphology section:

Geomorphology is the study of landforms and their evolution. The main active processes in mountainous environments are particularly visible in the Val d’Hérens. This represents a true natural heritage for the valley.

Did you know that in recent years, climate change has caused an increase in rockfalls and landslides in the valley, especially during heatwaves and snowmelt periods?

Soapstone section:

Did you know that this "soft" stone, which is highly fire-resistant, was traditionally used to make cooking pots and irons?

 

Openings in October
Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 3pm to 6pm: unguided visits.

Prices
-       Adults: CHF 6
-       Seniors/students: CHF 4
- Children under 12: free
- Families with more than 3 adults: 20 CHF
- Groups (10 people or more): flat rate of 60 CHF + 4 CHF per person from the 11th person onwards

 

A ticket to the Geology Centre also gives you the opportunity to visit the exhibition at the Maison des Alpes free of charge.
