Patrouille des aiguilles rouges

Ski mountaineering and high mountain adventure enthusiasts will gather for an iconic event: the Patrouille des Aiguilles Rouges.

Since its inception in 2015, this biennial event has brought together extreme challenge lovers for a demanding course through the icy landscapes of Haut Val d’Hérens.

A spectacular route: For this 5th edition, two immersive courses with positive elevations of 2081 m and 2623 m are on the program, set in a breathtaking alpine environment and passing through exceptional sites such as La Roussette, the Aiguilles-Rouges Glacier, the Darbonnaire Pass, Mont de l’Etoile, and Les Ignes.

In teams of two, the patrollers will navigate challenging conditions, in complete harmony with nature and the glaciers.

While the first three editions took place between Arolla and Evolène, the course was modified in 2023. Due to changing snow conditions, which no longer allow a "ski-on" return near Evolène, the patrollers now return to Arolla, enabling them to experience the full adventure of ski mountaineering.
