Great Mid-Summer Festival in Evolène

A living tradition that draws more than 7,000 people each year into the streets of Evolène. The day is filled with entertainment and demonstrations of authentic mountain know-how. The grand mid-summer parade has become a unique event, showcasing the work of yesteryear and the life of a community that fully embraces its traditional culture. On this day, the entire population gets involved, and traditional costumes take over the village.

Every odd-numbered year, the CIME Festival joins this must-attend celebration, blending sounds, faces, and costumes from other mountain regions around the world. These guests perform at the end of the parade under the CIME Hall for the highlight of the festivities: the Closing Gala and its emotional final dance, which moves the audience to tears year after year.

11:00 – Village outskirts – Paragliding dance show
12:00 – Evolène village – Musical entertainment throughout the village
14:00 – Central Street, Evolène – Grand parade of mountain traditions
