Guided hike "The balcony of the Val d'Arolla".
Val d’Hérens
Your guide proposes this hike for good walkers starting from Les Farquèses, a small hamlet above Les Haudères served by the postal bus to Arolla.
After the mayens area, we will pass by the old alpage of La Crettaz to reach the alpage of L'Etoile from where the view on the Dent Blanche is splendid.
Then we take a balcony path with a magnificent view of the Val d'Arolla dominated by the Pigne d'Arolla and the Mont Collon, to reach the Lac Bleu which could not be called otherwise!
The path will take us to our goal through a forest of larches and arolles where we will certainly hear the cry of the speckled nutcracker and where we may see a roe deer, a chamois... or signs of their presence.
Once we arrive at the village of Arolla at 2000m, one of the high villages of Switzerland inhabited all year round and the nerve centre of the Glacier Patrol, we will be welcomed on a terrace before taking the bus back to the starting point.
