Cantonal mountain guide celebrations

In June 2026, Evolène will have the honor of hosting the Cantonal Mountain Guides Festival, a major event that celebrates a profession that is emblematic of the Alps and deeply linked to the history and identity of the region.

Throughout the weekend, the village will come alive with mountain film screenings, meetings , festive moments, and traditional celebrations. On Sunday, the guides will be honored during Mass and the blessing of ropes and ice axes, powerful symbols of their commitment to the mountains.

The procession through the main street, accompanied by folk groups, and the presentation of awards to jubilant guides and guests of honor will punctuate this highlight, marked by the spirit of transmission, respect for traditions, and conviviality.
