Photographic Exhibition – Val d’Hérens, Sublime Mountains

Francine and Thierry Laprand have made photography their passion for the past ten years and have exhibited their work on several occasions, notably in their own gallery, l’éToiles du Matin, in Bussigny.

We fell in love with the Val d’Hérens in 2022. After travelling through various parts of the world, rediscovering our own country felt like an obvious choice. We spent several stays — including an entire year — exploring trails and alpine pastures, mayens and remote mountain paths, searching for the best viewpoints and the most unexpected light conditions. Carrying heavy backpacks filled with warm clothes, headlamps, cameras, telephoto lenses and tripods, we set out to capture the magical light of dusk.

None of our images were taken with a drone; instead, they are the result of meticulous research using topographic maps and careful fieldwork to be in the right place at the right moment.

We are delighted to present the result of our work here in the valley itself.
